Phang Nga was formerly inhabited by small communities. During the reign of King Rama II, many people fled to this land. In 1824, the invaders were expelled, and then it gradually was expanded to be a province. It can be said that Phang Nga is a melting pot of Buddhists, Thai-Chinese, Muslims and others. Phang Nga is a province famous for its gorgeous land, stunning bay, and great islands, particularly Phang Nga Bay, including hundreds of islands such as James Bond Island, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, with laid-back atmosphere that allows tourists feel cultural experience. The most famous spot is Phang Nga Bay National Park – a geological wonder filled with islands, deep caverns, and astonishing rock formations rising vertically from the sea.
